Troy Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash
A 19-year-old Troy man, Kemaury Everett, has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in Albany County Court.
Everett admitted to hitting and killing 93-year-old Charles Allendorph with his car at the intersection of Congress and Newark streets in Cohoes.
According to police, Everett backed over Allendorph's body as witnesses told him to stop, and then left the scene, abandoning his vehicle in the area of Dove and Elm streets.
Everett was arrested at his home and faced charges of second-degree assault and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, which are satisfied by his plea, along with a pending drug charge in another case.
He faces 5 to 15 years in prison when sentenced on January.
