Topsoe Launches 500MW Electrolyser Facility in Denmark
Denmark-based energy transition technology provider Topsoe has launched a solid oxide electrolyser cell manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 500MW.
- Located in Herning, Denmark
- Supported by €94m from the EU Innovation Fund
- Represents the company’s single biggest investment to date
The electrolyser stacks will produce green hydrogen, used to reduce emissions across industrial sectors.
Our SOEC facility will be a game-change for the energy transition, said Roeland Baan, CEO of Topsoe.
Expected to service up to 10GW of installed capacity at customer sites after ten years, cutting CO2 emissions by 15 million metric tonnes.
