UPDATE: Highway 4 between Parksville and Port Alberni reopens after crash
The highway was closed since 1:30 p.m. but has now re-opened. RCMP and BC EHS have not yet provided information on the cause of the crash or status of those involved.
A car crash had closed Highway 4 between Parksville and Port Alberni, with drivers waiting in line for hours. DriveBC expected to provide an update at 7 p.m., but it was possible that it would not include new information on when the road would re-open.
DriveBC did not post an alternative route to get between Port Alberni and Parksville. Some social media users reported being turned around due to the expected length of the closure.
