Several Miss Universe contestants reportedly left a pre-pageant event after a heated exchange between Miss Universe Thailand National Director Nawat Itsaragrisil and Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch. The incident unfolded on November 3 during a livestream, which remains publicly available on the Miss Universe Thailand Facebook page.
During the ceremony, Itsaragrisil called Bosch to stand up and questioned her commitment to promoting the organization. He accused her of not following promotional requirements related to Thailand and its events.
“Mexico, where are you? I heard you did not agree to post everything about Thailand, about every article of our activities. Is it true?”
Bosch clarified that she had misunderstood what was expected of her, but this explanation appeared to aggravate Itsaragrisil further. He then openly criticized her for obeying her national director instead of following his instructions.
“If you follow the orders from your national director, you are a dumb head.”
The exchange escalated as Itsaragrisil continued to reprimand Bosch for speaking out. Bosch defended herself, asserting her right to be heard and demanding respect.
“I have a voice, and I deserve respect as a woman.”
The tense moment prompted several contestants to leave the room in apparent solidarity with Miss Mexico, leaving viewers shocked and igniting debate about professionalism and respect within the Miss Universe organization.
