Communities across Inverness will unite this weekend to honour those who have lost their lives in military conflicts. The main Remembrance Sunday parade and service will take place at the Cavell Gardens War Memorial, attracting hundreds of residents and visitors.
Across the wider area, people in local towns and villages will gather at war memorials to mark the day with solemn reflection for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.
The main procession, featuring members of the Royal British Legion Scotland, veterans, cadet organisations, young people, civic leaders, and politicians, will assemble in Huntly Street at 2:20 pm. This year, motorcyclists from the Highland Riders’ Branch of the Legion will also take part.
The parade will cross the River Ness and proceed to the war memorial, where the Remembrance service will begin at 3 pm. The service will include a two-minute silence, wreath-laying, and readings presented by students from Charleston Academy.
“We will remember those who gave their lives in service of our freedom.”
The Inverness community comes together this Remembrance Sunday to honour fallen service members with parades, ceremonies, and moments of shared reflection.
