The San Jose Sharks delivered their most complete performance of the season on Wednesday, defeating the Seattle Kraken 6-1 at Climate Pledge Arena.
Dellandrea scored shorthanded at 3:24 in the third period, extending the Sharks' lead to 5-1. Toffoli followed with his fifth goal of the season just 30 seconds later. The Sharks also executed a perfect penalty kill, going 6-for-6.
“Our penalty kill was really good tonight. So that helps,” Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said. “I thought our game got better as the game went on.”
San Jose improved to 5-6-3, marking their fifth win in eight games. This is their first regulation-time loss for the Kraken at home this season. Earlier, the Sharks won 5-2 against the New Jersey Devils on October 30. Three other Shark victories this season required overtime.
Askarov had 36 saves in a recent 3-2 overtime win against the Colorado Avalanche and continues to prove his value in net. With the win against Seattle, the Sharks improved their road record to 3-3-0 this season.
