Tim David smashed the longest six in T20 International history, propelling Australia to a strong total of 186 in the third T20 match against India held in Hobart on Sunday night.
After Travis Head and Josh Inglis were dismissed early, David arrived at the crease and dominated India’s bowlers, reaching a half-century in just 23 balls. His powerful hitting sent Indian spinner Axar Patel's delivery soaring towards the top of the David Boon Stand at Bellerive Oval.
Fox Cricket’s statisticians calculated that the six traveled 129 metres, making it the longest six ever recorded in T20 internationals and the biggest six captured by Fox Cricket.
The enormous six was so immense it struck the Ninja Stadium sign atop the stand, nearly reaching the Derwent River, as commentator Mark Howard exclaimed:
“That’s coming into the commentary box! It was nearly in the Derwent (River)!"
