Shoshana Bean, who once starred as Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked from 2005 to 2006, revealed why she still hasn’t watched Wicked: Part 1, even as its sequel, Wicked: For Good, is about to premiere in theaters this November.
“I waited until the second, so I could watch them back-to-back,” said Bean, 48, during an interview with PEOPLE at the New York Restoration Project Hulaween Gala on October 24.
She added that she is “absolutely” thrilled to experience both films consecutively, enjoying the full arc of the story without interruption.
Bean expressed her enthusiasm for seeing her former musical reimagined for the big screen, particularly looking forward to one of its standout numbers.
“It’s a very cinematic song, and I would love to see it have more life than what a stage is capable of doing,” she said about the number “No Good Deed.” “I could not even possibly imagine to the extent that Jon Chu’s genius can dream, can create.”
Known for her powerhouse vocals and emotional performances, Shoshana Bean continues to support the legacy of Wicked while celebrating its new cinematic era.
Shoshana Bean plans to watch both Wicked films consecutively, expressing excitement for their cinematic scope and admiration for director Jon Chu’s creative vision.
