LaGrange Candidates Introduce Themselves at Senior Center
The Active Life Senior Center in LaGrange held a forum for the candidates for LaGrange mayor and city council on Wednesday morning.
Each of the candidates was given a few minutes to introduce themselves and go over a bit of their platform, followed by time for one-on-one time with the candidates to ask them questions.
Incumbent Mayor Jim Arrington
Incumbent Mayor Jim Arrington served on the council for six years and has been mayor for the past year-and-a-half. Arrington is a lifelong resident of LaGrange.
He and his wife, Kathy, have one daughter and one grandchild. Arrington highlighted the city’s lack of property taxes and low utility costs, emphasizing efforts to improve public safety.
We have some of the lowest utilities in the state of Georgia. We’re in the top 15 of the cheapest utilities. And I give credit to the previous council and mayors.
