2025 INFR: Diné Contestants Capture First Round Wins
Round 1 of the Indian National Finals Rodeo has concluded, with several Diné contestants achieving success on the opening day at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center.
According to Truman Begaye, Special to the Navajo Times, notable performances include:
- Crownpoint cowboy Tydon Tsosie, who won the round with a 4.12 run in the steer wrestling event.
- Chinle cowgirl Erin Jones, who won the first round in the ladies barrel racing with a time of 15.34 seconds and also finished seventh in the breakaway roping.
Jones put herself in position to win the women’s all-around crown.
