KA-BAR has released a spiritual successor to the Mark 98, a flipper knife in their lineup for several years.
The new model, called the Mark 25, features a refined design, different color scheme, and higher-performance blade steel.
The Mark 98 was first released in 2018 as the first modern flipper folder KA-BAR had ever attempted, with a sub-$100 price tag and humble material choices.
The Mark 25 upgrades to D2 steel, replacing the 5Cr15MoV steel on the 98, making it a good fit for a mid-size cutter with a 3.75-inch drop point.
The D2 steel on the Mark 25 is an indisputable performance upgrade.
Author's summary: KA-BAR releases Mark 25, a sequel to the Mark 98 flipper knife.
