Elaine M. LaLuzerne passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, and woke to new life in Christ.
She was born on November 22, 1937, in Rudyard, Michigan, to Elmer and Florence (English) Toppe. The family moved to Door County when Elaine was 5 years old, and she lived in Sturgeon Bay since elementary school.
After graduating from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1955, Elaine attended DK Teachers College in Algoma, where she met her future husband, Darrel LaLuzerne. Both Elaine and Darrel taught in Door County public schools until the birth of their first child, Cindy, in 1964.
Elaine loved being a stay-at-home mom to her children, Cindy and Joe, and took joy in raising them and welcoming neighbor kids into their home. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals and her love of fellowship and laughter.
She loved keeping a cozy home and welcoming all family and friends for hundreds of delicious home cooked meals, fellowship and always laughter.
