As a child, I was terrified of insects and spiders, seeing them as tiny monsters — creepy, scary and entirely unwelcome.
The media reinforced my fears, portraying insects as menacing, deadly pests, or grotesque creatures.
But picking up a camera changed everything, revealing intricate patterns, endearing behaviors, and cute faces.
I’d discovered an entirely new world, one I had previously — and purposefully — avoided.
