A 49-year-old man, Billy Joe Cagle, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after threatening to "shoot up" the airport, according to Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum.
The arrest was made after Cartersville police informed the Atlanta Police Department of a threat to the airport at around 9:40 a.m. Cagle's family had reported that he was heading to the airport and had threatened to shoot, and that he had been livestreaming on social media before entering the airport.
Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said he believes Cagle was inside the airport initially to scope it out.
