A 26-year-old man, Harshal Parma, was mistaken for a thief and brutally beaten by a mob in Mumbai's Goregaon area, resulting in his death.

According to reports, Harshal was tied up and beaten by local labourers after being wrongly identified as a thief at an under-construction building in Subhash Nagar, Teen Dongri, Goregaon (West) on the night of October 18-19, 2025.

Despite being hospitalized for severe injuries, Harshal succumbed to his wounds. The Goregaon police have arrested four individuals, including Salman Mohammad Khan, Isamullah Khan, Gautam Chamar, and Rajiv Gupta, and registered a murder case.

The police are continuing their investigation and urging citizens to avoid mob justice and rely on lawful channels.

The violence happened after Harshal left home around midnight, saying he was going out for a drink, and was found unconscious at the construction site hours later.
