Florida constricts Burmese python population with surge in kills, Gov. DeSantis says

Florida Constricts Burmese Python Population

Florida's efforts to remove Burmese pythons from the Everglades are yielding significant results, with 748 pythons killed in July, more than triple the number from the same period last year.

"In the month of July alone, the program removed more pythons than the entire 12 months pre-transition. That's incredible that they're doing it,"

Governor DeSantis announced, urging lawmakers to continue funding the removal efforts. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has partnered with Inversa to help eliminate the snakes, with the company marketing leather products from the invasive species.

Governor DeSantis admired a python baseball, saying it would be a great office decoration.
