Cape Breton rugby player Brielynn Murrant's change of position on the pitch led to her winning the AUS most valuable player award with Acadia.
Murrant, a product of Port Caledonia, was coming off a successful year with the Acadia Axewomen, having won an AUS championship in 2024, their first in nine years.
"I personally didn’t know where I was going to fall," said Murrant. "I didn’t know what position I was going to be playing, there were lots of things changing all the time, but I went with the flow.
Despite initial uncertainty about her position, Murrant adapted and went on to have a standout season.
