Work has restarted on parts of the 14-mile stretch of twin-bore tunnels between Euston and Hillingdon after a safety shutdown.
A near-miss incident on September 29 led to a full shutdown and safety review by the Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture, which is in charge of the work.
The beam clamps on the main beam slid along the beam, causing it to rotate and violently impact the MEWP, which had two operatives in the basket.
Additional safety measures have been introduced, allowing work to resume. Author's note: Work restarts after safety improvements.
