Turn Up Turnout and CSG Host Dinner to Discuss Food Insecurity
University of Michigan students attended Turn Up Turnout's Dinners for Democracy to engage in conversations about civic engagement issues.
About 30 students gathered at the Ford School of Public Policy to attend the dinner, which was hosted in collaboration with the Central Student Government.
The dinner addressed food insecurity on campus, a topic of concern due to changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program under the One Big Beautiful Bill signed by President Donald Trump in July.
These changes limit eligibility for food benefits and shift costs to the states, which may lead to additional cuts.
