The 8 Physical Therapist-Approved Hip Exercises That Brought Me Back from Injury

I started running consistently about 10 years ago, with the goal of completing the 2016 New York City Marathon. To achieve this, I signed up for the New York Road Runner’s 9+1 program, which requires running nine races and volunteering at one.
However, within my first year of regular running, I developed a serious case of IT band syndrome, which made it impossible for me to run. I underwent physical therapy (PT) to recover and get back to running as soon as possible.
My physical therapist added banded moves to strengthen my hips to my at-home routine.
