Cornwall city council has invited Via Rail representatives to address the council regarding a pilot project that was put on hold due to backlash.
The council agreed to proceed with advocacy against potential Via Rail cuts and operational changes, and Mayor Justin Towndale will initiate a meeting with the president and CEO of the company.
"You would have been better off talking to a wall,"
said Claude McIntosh, recalling a previous meeting with Via Rail representatives seven years ago, where they showed no interest in the city's concerns.
Councilor McIntosh noted that this meeting will be the second in seven years, and the city is seeking to discuss service levels with Via Rail.
