The Greater Sudbury Cubs scored five unanswered goals to spoil the debut of the Voodoos' new black third jersey, winning 7-2 over the Powassan Voodoos in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action.
The Cubs broke open a tie game halfway through, with Nolan Newton scoring on a two-man advantage midway through the first period. Kaedyn Long added another goal at 19:55, making it 2-0 Cubs.
Powassan cut the deficit in half early in the second stanza, with Cayden Kowal tipping in a left point shot by Ben Gisonni at 2:24.
The Cubs banged in five unanswered goals to skate away with a 7-2 win.
