President Marcos Meets World Leaders at ASEAN Summit
President Marcos attended the opening of the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit, meeting with leaders from Cambodia, Thailand, Canada, Japan, the European Union, and the United Nations.
Accompanied by First Lady Liza Marcos, he was welcomed by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
During the plenary session, Marcos stressed the Philippines' readiness to host the ASEAN Summit next year, focusing on practical, inclusive, and measurable initiatives.
According to Palace press officer Claire Castro, the Philippines' hosting of the regional meeting will prioritize these key areas.
