Fargo middle and high school students can now scan their IDs or enter numbers when boarding the bus, allowing parents to track them via the "Here Comes the Bus" app.
As of the 27th, students are required to scan their ID or enter their student number when boarding and exiting the bus. The system works in conjunction with the "Here Comes the Bus" app, which tracks routes and sends notifications to parents when their child gets on or off the bus.
Parents send their most precious resource to school every day. They want to know they get there safe, and they want to know they get home safe. And now we have a way to make sure we can do that, and they can track how and where their kids are at.
According to Superintendent Cory Steiner, the technology will improve bus routes and scheduling while also enhancing safety.
