Spyder Games, the developer behind the viral hit Steal a Brainrot on Roblox, is suing a Fortnite Creative copycat game for copyright infringement.
As noted by Aftermath, Spyder Games filed a lawsuit in California, accusing Thomas Van Der Voort of copying its "artwork, objects, design, and game elements" for the Fortnite Creative game, Stealing Brainrots.
The similarities between the game and the infringing game are not coincidental.
After launching Steal a Brainrot in May 2025, Spyder secured the copyright in August. The lawsuit claims that the similarities are not merely the result of the games existing in the same genre or dictated by function, but rather the result of conscious decisions to copy the creative choices and unique designs implemented in the game.
