Jets Mum on Reasoning Behind Captain's Benching
The New York Jets refused to disclose why they benched one of their highest-paid players, linebacker Jamien Sherwood, for a quarter.
In their Week 8 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, Sherwood was replaced by rookie Kiko Mauigoa in the first quarter, but later reinserted into his role, finishing with 5 tackles and a pass deflection on 41 defensive snaps.
