IoT Devices Tipped for Continued Gains
IoT Analytics forecast a year-on-year growth of 14 per cent, reaching 21.1 billion units by the end of December.
According to IoT Analytics, the number of IoT devices in use globally is expected to continue growing in 2025, driven by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular variants.
- Wi-Fi devices currently hold a 32 per cent share
- Bluetooth devices hold a 24 per cent share
- Cellular devices hold a 22 per cent share
Data from the rising number of IoT devices “will increasingly fuel AI and become the foundation for more intelligent systems across industries”
CEO Knud Lasse Lueth predicts the market will reach 50 billion units by 2035. Principal analyst Satyajit Sinha notes that the cellular variant is splitting into two tracks.
