Reactions to the Ceasefire in Gaza
Despite claims by Israel and the Trump administration that the ceasefire is still in effect, many residents in Gaza disagree.
Following Israeli airstrikes that killed at least 109 people in Gaza, including 46 children,
U.S. President Donald Trump maintains that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas still holds.
Palestinians in Gaza who survived the attacks believe the ceasefire agreement
exists only on paper, providing diplomatic cover that allows Israel to continue to kill.
Survey of Gaza Residents
The Intercept asked 60 residents in Gaza about their views on the ceasefire. The results showed that:
- Four believed the ceasefire was still in place, but fragile and at risk of falling apart.
- Six expressed hope that the ceasefire would remain.
