Director-writer Tushar Amrish Goel's The Taj Story is immensely offensive, not just for distorting history, but also on a much deeper level.
The film is a politically perverse project, killingly dull and verbose, where the makers have mistaken speculative research for cinematic 'truth'.
Cinema can't be about so-called research material being bandied about in a courtroom which looks as real as this film's intentions.
- The film features Paresh Rawal and Zakir Hussain, who are capable of sustained performance under better circumstances.
- However, they simply quote from obtuse documents and books with a straight face for much of the playing time.
