The crash occurred on October 30, when three University of Arizona students were struck while walking near campus, according to police.

"She really gave me the sense of community," said Lawrence Zhang, a friend. "When I joined KAMP, she helped me to find friends and a place to stay connected."

The suspect eventually turned himself in to police.
