The Christmas Pageant, marking the start of the festive season, will take place tomorrow morning. Road users are advised to plan their travel carefully due to several closures across the CBD.
Several major roads will be closed from early morning until the afternoon to accommodate more than 300,000 attendees expected to line the streets for the annual event. A complete list of closures is available on the Christmas Pageant website.
This year, the Pageant will follow its usual path, beginning at South Terrace, then proceeding onto King William Street. It will pass along the western edge of Tarntanyangga, continue through Reconciliation Plaza, Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street, North Terrace, and conclude at Beehive Corner.
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
Author's summary: The Christmas Pageant will bring heavy road closures across the CBD tomorrow; attendees should plan ahead and seek alternative parking to avoid travel disruptions.
