Colorado State University is refining its practice strategies to encourage stronger starts ahead of Saturday’s matchup against UNLV. Safety Jake Jarmolowich emphasizes that consistency and discipline remain key principles of their preparation.
"I think it's like any other week, to be honest. I've said it a lot, it's going back to our 1/11s — if everyone does their jobs and we contain this quarterback and we do what we're supposed to do, we're gonna be just fine," said Jarmolowich.
He added that maintaining focus and discipline is vital for success:
"I think any game, any opponent, you have to be as disciplined as possible. If you're not, you're gonna overset a gap, you're gonna go over the top and you're supposed to be the inside or wherever it might be. I think with the quarterback, it's just a little thing in the back of your head you've got to keep in mind."
UNLV enters the game boasting the most productive offense in the Mountain West Conference, averaging 36.9 points per game. Their lowest output this season was 30 points in a win over UCLA, while their highest was a 51-48 shootout victory over Air Force.
The Rebels also own one of the league’s most efficient ground attacks, averaging 193.4 rushing yards per game and leading the conference with 5.39 yards per carry.
Colorado State adapts its practice focus for UNLV’s explosive offense, relying on consistent discipline and strong defensive execution to counter the high-scoring Rebels.
