New data from a leading Spanish property website reveals the nationalities applying for the most mortgages in Spain.
According to Idealista, German nationals lead with 17.1% of foreign mortgages in Spain in Q3 2025.

- British applicants: 13.7%
- French and Swiss: 8.7% each
- Dutch: 8.3%
- US nationals: 5.1%
- Belgians: 4.2%
- Irish: 4.1%
- Swedes: 2.6%
- Italians: 1.9%
Foreigners accounted for just 3% of total mortgages in Spain.
