RSF Calls for Gui Minhai's Release During Swedish State Visit to China
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has urged Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard to demand the release of Swedish publisher Gui Minhai during her state visit to China.
Gui Minhai was abducted on 17 October, and his case coincides with the minister's visit, marking the tenth anniversary of his disappearance.
- Gui Minhai is the only European Union citizen detained for defending press freedom in China.
- He was forcibly disappeared by the Chinese regime, which has refused to disclose information about his whereabouts for the past five years.
