Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, will visit China on 16–17 October to meet with representatives of the Chinese Government.
The agenda includes discussions on Sweden's priorities in finance, trade, and security policy, with a focus on dialogue "where this is possible and in line with our interests and values."
This trip coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sweden and China, which were formally established in May 1950, making Sweden the first Western country to recognize China.
