Taliban's Male-Only Press Conference
During a recent visit to India, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the foreign minister of the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan, held a press briefing at the Afghan Embassy, where women journalists were excluded.
This event highlighted the failure of media to fact-check Afghan minister's pro-woman claims and India's silence on the exclusion of women journalists, which further normalized Taliban's misogyny.
Neither, of course, is true.

- Muttaqi insisted it was a “technical” issue.
Journalists' organizations protested against the exclusion, making it clear that this was unacceptable and that the government should have objected.
