Record Low Temperatures on Vancouver Island

Multiple towns on Vancouver Island have set new record low temperatures, according to Environment Canada.

Qualicum Beach set a new record of -1 C on Oct. 14, beating the previous record of -0.5 C set in 1992. Records in the area have been kept since 1962 and are measured at the Qualicum Beach Airport.

are among the 23 communities in B.C. that set new record low temperatures. Other communities that set records include Bella Bella, Blue River, Cache Creek, and many others.

In contrast, Fort Nelson set a new warm temperature record of 19.4 C, beating the old mark of 19 C set in 1937.
