Amazon Web Services Recovers from Global Outage
A massive outage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) caused significant disruptions worldwide on Monday.
AWS customers, including major businesses, governments, universities, and media organizations, were affected by the outage, which lasted several hours.
- Snapchat
- Roblox
- Duolingo
- McDonald's app
were among the services impacted, according to the Associated Press.
AWS began investigating the issue at 3 a.m. ET and identified a potential cause around 5 a.m. ET, attributing it to an error with DynamoDB, a system for managing database tables and indexes.
Most systems should be back online and operating normally, according to Amazon.
