Mazda confirms its second EV for Australia, this time with a lot more range

Mazda's Second EV for Australia

Mazda has confirmed that it will bring a new electric vehicle (EV) to the Australian market in 2026, with a range of up to 500 km.

The new EV, called the Mazda 6e, will be released mid-2026 and will feature a 78 kWh battery. This will be a significant improvement over the previous MX-30 model, which had a range of just over 200 km and was discontinued from the Australian market about 18 months ago.

"This is a watershed moment for Mazda,"
said Vinesh Bhindi, managing director of Mazda Australia.

The Mazda 6e will be the company's only electric vehicle in the market when it is released, and its price has not yet been announced.
