OPINION: Idaho, say hello to Donald Trump’s autocracy

Idaho and Donald Trump's Autocracy

The Trump administration's autocracy has expanded into Idaho, with the establishment of a Qatari Air Force training section at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Like many foreign military sales agreements to allies, the plans to sell F-15QAs to Qatar have been in the process for years.

According to Sens. Jim Risch and Mike Crapo, as well as Congressmen Russ Fulcher and Mike Simpson, they were caught off guard by the move, stating they

were given no advance notice that this agreement had been finalized or that it was going to be formally announced.

The Trump administration's decision has put Idaho's Republican congressional delegation in a difficult position, particularly given the timing of the deal, which came after Trump accepted Qatar's $400 million luxury jet as a gift and the Trump Organization was awarded a contract to build a $5 billion project.

Author's summary: Trump's autocracy reaches Idaho.
