Panzenbeck Projected to Win Mayor Election

Pam Panzenbeck is likely to win reelection for a third term as mayor of Glen Cove City, receiving 56.42% of the vote, according to the Nassau County Board of Elections.

The city council is expected to remain evenly divided with three Democrats and three Republicans, despite initial projections of a 4-2 Republican majority.

Democratic candidate Marsha Silverman acknowledged the likely loss, with both parties noting that absentee ballots are still being counted and official results have not been announced.

Both parties acknowledged on Tuesday night that absentee ballots would likely be trickling in and that the vote totals had not yet been made official.
