Emergency services responded to an incident on Whalley Road in Clayton-le-Moors at 5pm on Sunday, November 9. Lancashire Police closed the road in both directions between Adelaide Street and Hill Street following reports of a collision involving a car and two pedestrians.
A woman in her 20s and a child were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The road closure lasted several hours, causing significant delays in the area.
