Young Woman and Child Hospitalized After Car Collision
Emergency services responded to an incident on Whalley Road in Clayton-le-Moors at 5pm on Sunday, November 9. Lancashire Police closed the road in both directions between Adelaide Street and Hill Street following reports of a collision involving a car and two pedestrians.
A woman in her 20s and a child were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The road closure lasted several hours, causing significant delays in the area.
One witness posted on Facebook: "Avoid Whalley Road near the vets and premier there’s been an accident. Police and ambulance on scene. Road has been blocked off just after the bridge."
The road fully reopened around 9:30pm. No arrests have been made. Police are appealing to witnesses and anyone with footage from the scene to come forward.
