K-Pop star HyunA experienced a health scare during her performance at the Waterbomb Festival in Macau on Sunday evening. While singing her 2011 hit “Bubble Pop,” she suddenly stopped and collapsed on stage. Backup dancers quickly came to her aid, and a bodyguard carried her off the stage.
Following the incident, fans expressed widespread concern on social media. HyunA later reassured her supporters with an Instagram update, explaining the situation:
"It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional,” she said.
“I just want to say thank you for admiring, cherishing, and loving me since I was very young, even though I’ve always been lacking. Don’t worry about me.”
Some fans speculated her fainting might be linked to a significant 10 kg weight loss achieved over the past month through a strict diet. However, HyunA has a known medical condition, vasovagal syncope, which causes her to blackout and experience episodes of emotional distress frequently. These fainting episodes have occurred before.
Despite these challenges, HyunA continues to engage with her fans and deliver performances.
