A 19-year-old Troy man, Kemaury Everett, has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in Albany County Court.
Everett admitted to hitting and killing 93-year-old Charles Allendorph with his car at the intersection of Congress and Newark streets in Cohoes. He then backed over Allendorph's body, despite witnesses telling him to stop, and left the scene.
According to police, Everett abandoned his vehicle in the area of Dove and Elm streets and was later found and arrested at his home.
His plea satisfies additional charges, including second-degree assault and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, as well as a pending drug charge in another case.
Everett faces 5 to 15 years in prison when sentenced on January.
