Jeremy Pocklington Appointed as Next MoD Perm Sec
Jeremy Pocklington, the current Department for Energy Security and Net Zero boss, will replace David Williams as the defence ministry's top civil servant.
According to the announcement, Sir Chris Wormald, the cabinet secretary, has appointed Pocklington to the role with the approval of the prime minister.
- Pocklington will succeed David Williams, who is leaving the civil service after 35 years.
- Williams has spent the last four years as MoD perm sec.
- Clive Maxwell, the current DESNZ second perm sec, will take over as interim perm sec from the end of November.
