Great Bend's football team, led by coach Erin Beck, is set to host Wichita Carroll in a second-round 5A playoff game at Memorial Stadium.
According to coach Beck,
"It's 5A West playoff time. We're at the point where we'll have to play four quarters. Our kids are fresh and ready to go."
The Panthers have a historical precedent for success against Wichita Carroll, having won the 2006 state football championship game after defeating them 21-14.
Wichita Carroll has a 5-2 all-time advantage over Great Bend, with their offense led by dual-threat quarterback John Corrigan and main backfield threat Cooper Herrman.
