Sara Cox's Split from Famous Husband and Family Life After Finding Love Again

BBC Radio 2 presenter Sara Cox has taken on a monumental challenge for Children In Need, participating in the Great Northern Marathon Challenge. She will be supported by her husband and three children throughout the event.

The Great Northern Marathon Challenge

The challenge, which began on Monday, November 10, involves covering 135 miles on foot across Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire — the equivalent of five marathons in five days. Sara combines running, jogging, and walking as she passes through moorlands, ridges, and picturesque hills across northern England, cheered on by local communities and Radio 2 listeners.

Family and Home Life

Now 50, Sara lives in London with her husband, three children, and a collection of beloved pets, including dogs and cats. Originally from Bolton, Greater Manchester, the television and radio personality has long been known for her warm and engaging presence on BBC Radio 2 and BBC One's Morning Live.

Past Relationships and Career Journey

Before finding lasting love, Sara experienced personal challenges, including the end of her first marriage. She married DJ Jon Carter in a private North London ceremony in October 2001. Before her successful broadcasting career, Sara worked as a model and later rose to fame presenting on Channel 4’s The Girlie Show, followed by roles on MTV and The Big Breakfast.

“Sara Cox is the latest BBC Radio 2 presenter to take part in a major challenge to raise money for Children In Need.”
