Sheinbaum Faces Criticism for Flood Response
President Claudia Sheinbaum faced criticism from residents and reporters regarding the government's response to the floods that have claimed over 60 lives across four states.
National Civil Protection chief Laura Velázquez reported that the death toll had risen to 64, with 65 people missing in Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, and Querétaro.
Sheinbaum acknowledged that the federal National Disasters Fund (Fonden) no longer exists
However, Sheinbaum asserted that there is sufficient money in the budget to provide support to respond to the flooding.
